The 56 splash window on this coast
Most bags on Water Street already hold a 56. Most of those 56s are liars in at least one Corpus sand. The window is not “throw it away.” The window is: on which tray does it still exit, and on which tray is it a 53 with a stamp.
When we keep the 56
Wet Gulf tray, splash height still clearing Marisol’s lip line, ball landing with some check. Packed tray may already be failing — that is a 60 conversation, not a death sentence for the 56 on every Monday morning. We would rather you own one honest 56 and one honest 60 than a drawer of almosts.
When we retire it from packed faces
Click, climb, run. Opening the face skulls. A second packed cycle (the $70 add-on) still fails. Then the 56 stays in the bag for fluffy wet sand and the packed faces go to sixty. That sentence is the whole point of this window.
What we will not do to a 56
Bend it four degrees in a marina loft and call it a 60. Recut a sole because a chart said so. Compare it to a Buffalo camber sit. If the loft does not exit, the next tool is a different loft, tested on the same sand.
